Last Sunday's message

Luke 1:37 · MSG

Nothing, you see, is impossible with God.

Key truths

TRUST GOD WITH THE IMPOSSIBLE

Impossible is God's starting point

What stops us does not stop God. The place where our own options run out is often where his work quietly begins.

Trust is a decision

Trust is not a feeling that shows up on time. It is a choice you make before you can see the outcome.

Obey before you see

Faith usually looks like one small step taken without proof. God tends to meet people on the road, not in the waiting room.

Reflect & respond

Sit with this

Where have you quietly decided nothing will change?

What step would you take if God answered?

Who could pray with you about this week?

A prayer

God, I bring you the situation I gave up on. Teach me to trust you with what I cannot fix.

THE HOOK

WHERE YOUR OPTIONS END

Our dead end is not God's dead end. The place you call finished is often where he begins.

KEY TRUTH

Trust is not a feeling that arrives on time. It is a choice you make before you see anything change.

TODAY'S VERSE

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE

Nothing, you see, is impossible with God.

ONE NEXT STEP

NAME IT AND PRAY

Say out loud the one thing you stopped praying for. Then ask God for it again this week.

The Message

ND Strupler opened with the promise of Luke 1:37, that nothing is impossible with God, and asked us to take that sentence seriously rather than treat it as a slogan. He said that the place where our options run out is not the end of the story but very often the place where God's work quietly begins. What stops us does not stop God, and the word impossible is where God tends to start rather than where he gives up. He pointed out how easily we shrink our prayers down to what we can already imagine happening on our own. Trust, he said, is not a warm feeling that arrives just when we need it, because feelings rarely turn up on time. Trust is a decision, something you choose before you can see the outcome and before anything has visibly changed. He described faith as usually looking like one small step taken without proof in hand. God tends to meet people on the road rather than in the waiting room, so obedience often comes before understanding. He invited us to name the situation we had quietly given up on and bring it back to God instead of managing it alone. The message closed with a prayer: God, I bring you the situation I gave up on, teach me to trust you with what I cannot fix.

To Talk About

1When you hear the words nothing is impossible with God, what is your honest first reaction?
2What is the difference, in your own experience, between feeling trust and deciding to trust?
3Why do you think we find it easier to wait for proof than to take a small step without it?
4What would change in how you pray if you believed God starts where your options run out?
5What is one small step of obedience you could take this week in a situation you cannot fix, and when will you take it?

STEP OFF THE THRONE

Jack Aidem opens up what changes on a normal Monday when you are no longer the one holding everything together.

What it is about

WHO IS ACTUALLY IN CHARGE

A king has authority, offers protection and sets the culture of his kingdom. We look at what that means for traffic, budgets and difficult conversations. Surrender turns out to feel like safety.
